Meet the Freshmen: Nebraska Volleyball’s Rising Stars in 2025

For every new volleyball season, the University of Nebraska adds new freshmen. Meet the newest faces of Nebraska Volleyball in 2025: four freshmen, Keri Leimbach, Ryan Hunter, Campbell Flynn, and Teraya Sigler. Teraya Sigler will perform as an outside hitter, and Ryan Hunter will be the opposite hitter for the Huskers. Campbell Flynn will play as Setter and Keri Leimbach will play as outside hitter.

For season 2025, a young and talented group of freshmen is ready with energy, skill, and determination to make the team incredible. All the freshmen have a strong high school volleyball background and a passion for the game. The fans are excited to watch the young athletes develop and shine on the court. Teraya Sigler, Outside Hitter – Scottsdale, Ariz., Horizon

A standout athlete, Teraya Siglerhas an impressive volleyball pedigree. Named Gatorade Arizona and MaxPreps Arizona Player of the Year in her junior and senior years at Horizon High School, she led the Huskies to consecutive state championships. As a senior, she posted 619 kills, 351 digs, and 64 aces, with a .378 hitting percentage. Her accolades extend internationally, with gold medals representing the U.S. Girls U19 and U21 National Teams. A four-time All-Arizona selection, she also played in the Under Armour All-America Game and is on the AVCA National Player of the Year Watch List.

Ryan Hunter, Opposite Hitter – Charlotte, N.C., Cox Mill

A talented volleyball prospect, Ryan Hunter has shown remarkable skill and leadership throughout her high school and club career. At Cox Mill High School, she excelled as a junior with an impressive 4.3 kills per set and a .317 hitting percentage, contributing significantly to the Chargers’ runner-up finish in the North Carolina 4A state tournament. Her outstanding performance earned her the Charlotte Observer North Carolina Player of the Year title and a first-team all-state selection. Previously, at Mallard Creek High School, she led her team with 3.9 kills per set. Despite missing her senior season due to injury, she continued to make her mark by training with the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program and playing club volleyball with Triangle VC.

Campbell Flynn, Setter – Oakland, Mich., Mercy

Campbell Flynn is a distinguished volleyball player with an impressive track record. Named the Gatorade National Player of the Year for 2024 and a two-time Gatorade Michigan Player of the Year, she has consistently showcased her skill on the court. As Michigan’s Miss Volleyball winner in 2024, she led Mercy High School to excel, recording 730 assists, 180 digs, and 131 kills in her senior year. Her leadership helped guide the team to a Michigan Division 1 state championship as a junior. Internationally, she was part of the U.S. Girls U21 and U19 National Teams, winning gold at prestigious championships. Her club career with Legacy Volleyball Club further demonstrated her skills.

Keri Leimbach, Outside Hitter – Scottsdale, Ariz., Horizon

Keri Leimbach is a formidable volleyball player with a stellar high school and club resume. At Lincoln Lutheran High School, she was instrumental in securing four state championships—one in Nebraska Class C1 and three in Class C2. In her senior season, she delivered a remarkable performance, averaging 6.0 digs per set and contributing 54 service aces, leading the Warriors to a 35-3 record and their fourth consecutive state title. Throughout her high school career, she averaged 5.3 digs per set and amassed 244 service aces, surpassing the 2,000 career digs milestone during the state tournament. A four-time first-team all-state selection, she was recognized on the AVCA All-America Watch List in 2024. Her club career with Nebraska ONE further highlights her talents, earning a PrepVolleyball.com 17U club third-team All-America selection. Keri Leimbach is also ranked as the top prospect out of Nebraska by PrepDig.com.
