LINCOLN, Neb. — In front of a roaring crowd of 8,625 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Saturday night, Nebraska volleyball once again proved why it remains undefeated. The Huskers stormed past Arizona in straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-18), improving to 11-0 on the season and showcasing the balance and depth that has made them a national powerhouse.
From the opening serve, Nebraska’s attack clicked on all cylinders. Freshman standout Harper Murray delivered another electric performance with 14 kills on a .333 clip, leading the Huskers’ offensive surge. Middle blocker Andi Jackson and outside hitter Virginia Adriano each chipped in nine kills, swinging with efficiency and forcing Arizona’s defense to scramble. Jackson hit .389 on the night, while Adriano’s .438 clip was among the most efficient on the floor. Minnesota transfer Taylor Landfair added steady firepower with eight kills, while setter Bergen Reilly orchestrated the attack with 40 assists and six digs, keeping Arizona off balance all evening. Nebraska finished with a sizzling .392 hitting percentage as a team.
Arizona didn’t go quietly. Junior outside hitter Jordan Wilson was the Wildcats’ heartbeat, hammering down 17 kills and showing grit against one of the nation’s top defenses. Carlie Cisneros added eight kills, helping Arizona battle closely in the second set, where the Wildcats pushed Nebraska to the brink before falling 25-23. Despite their fight, the Wildcats’ .250 hitting percentage couldn’t keep pace with the Huskers’ efficiency.
The energy inside Devaney was electric throughout the match, with fans erupting during long rallies and momentum-shifting blocks. Nebraska’s crowd became the sixth attacker, fueling the Huskers as they closed out each set with confidence.
With the sweep, Nebraska remains undefeated at 11-0, building more momentum heading into Big Ten play. Arizona, now 6-5, will look to regroup as it continues its Big 12 slate, carrying the lessons from facing one of the country’s toughest teams.
For Nebraska, the message was clear on Saturday night: depth, balance, and composure make them a dangerous contender—and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
